HOW We Delivered a Smart Access Control Solution Using Matter and BLE

The Challenge: Upgrading Without Replacing

The client had already deployed a fleet of smart locks communicating via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). However, with Matter emerging as a unifying standard for smart home ecosystems, they needed a way to bridge BLE devices with the Matter network — enabling better integration, control, and longevity.

The goal was clear:

  • Avoid hardware replacement

  • Enable secure, seamless operation within a Matter-based environment

  • Ensure the system remains future-proof and standards-compliant

The Solution: A Smart Bridge Between BLE and Matter

We developed a custom embedded solution acting as a bridge between Matter and BLE networks. This smart gateway allows Matter controllers to monitor and operate BLE-based smart locks in real time — as if they were native Matter devices.
